Knowing the audience background is what I have found to be key in creating successful promotional writing. By creating a press release and social media memo I have discovered the importance of research, explored the creative processes, and made connections between how organizations interact with social media, politics, and the news.

 

Other valuable skills I have learned is the importance of communication. Through writing memos, I learned the distinctions of how to be concise and still provide clear information to colleagues. The importance of keeping employers and your peers informed is vital in any work environment. This helps  to engage with others and to be translucent about what you are working on.
